HP- beta -CD is the 3 hydroxyl hydrogen atom of the C-2, C-3 and C-6 sites of the beta -CD, which is substituted by hydroxypropyl group, which produces 2-HP- beta -CD, 3-HP- beta -CD, 2,3-DHP- beta -CD, beta beta, and beta equivalent. In general, the reaction product is a mixture. If controlled conditions can also be produced by 2-HP- beta -CD, 2,3-DHP- beta -CD or 3-HP- beta -CD, respectively.
HP- beta -CD is soluble in water, and its solubility is more than 50% (m/V) at room temperature, even up to 75% (m/V). Therefore, it can not crystallize in alcohol aqueous solution, and its fluidity is not sticky when its concentration is less than 40%. HP- beta -CD is basically not metabolizing and accumulating in human body. After oral HP- beta -CD, the gastrointestinal tract is very small, and the distribution of blood and urine is very small, most of them are excreted in the body with feces, and the non intestinal administration is basically excreted in the urine.
